Born in 1910, the late Sheikh Nasser Bin Khaled Al Thani was endowed, since young adulthood, with an unparalleled sense of ethics, leadership and wisdom in the world of trade and commerce. These qualities enabled him to establish long-lasting personal and business relationships with Arab leaders and earned him the respect of everyone with whom he came into contact.Sheikh Nasser started his professional career as President of the first Municipality in Doha, after which he was elected as Qatar’s Minister of Commerce and Trade. During his tenure, which lasted until 1986, Sheikh Nasser demonstrated boundless loyalty to his beloved country. Over the years, he participated in countless international conferences, summits and trade exhibitions, in addition to his substantial contribution to advancing the general economy.In 1950, Sheikh Nasser established his own business, Nasser Bin Khaled Al Thani & Sons Holding Company, which was engaged in the trading and distribution of world-class brands in the domestic market. Through his wise leadership and astute business insights, the company swept the country and gained a distinguished position in Qatar and the broader Middle East.Beyond his immediate family, the late Sheikh Nasser Bin Khaled Al Thani’s life and work have left a permanent impression on generations of Qataris, making him an icon and an example to all.“Independence marks the beginning of economic independence and global development in Qatar.
